Where I camped at a magnificient spot just near the Río Guadalquivir. I had meets and greets with all these animals, and I Love That ! Although I constantly had to protect my food haha. Enjoy !

Every morning and every afternoon some 300 goats passed by twice. For a to me unknown reason this herd is going "for diner" two times per day where one time is regular. It is very nice to be so close and to see they are not at all worried about whatever.

They walk a long way close along the river and create very many very small goattrails. Also they poop a lot, but you don't smell that at all. Thanks to many of them having a bell I always was in time to save my food and garbage in time for them to eat it all. But one time I forgot about them when cycling to town and they "inspected" all. But even that is nice to experience !

Also at the other side of the river is a goatfarm, also of some 300 animals. They go out for diner one time per day, late in the afternoon, sometimes to the east and sometimes to the west.

And once in a while a floc of sheep passed by. I don't know where they were feeding at other days.

In the mornings the field close to the river, where there is the only green (grass) of maybe the whole of the south of Spain now, was wet due to dew. Then the snails took there change and explored it.

As soon as the sun takes over and the dew evaporates they disappear. I suppose they hide somewhere but I have never seen (found) one then. So I have no idea where and how they hide. But it must be somewhere closeby ...

And sometimes I was lucky to see a large group of storks circling around closeby.

More down to earth were the ants, and the trick with a peanut made for fascinating teamjobs once more.

This blackbird made my day, or at least the beginning.

There also were smaller birds living here, jumping from tree to branch, looking for insects. But they never even came close, they are extremely carefull, despite me being there for quite a while already.

It is always a pleasure to hear birds having a good time. They are able to copy there joy to you instantly.

But my unbeatable Panasonic FZ1000 camera 🖱️ camera came close. It is The best camera for active photographers !

Then one day it rained extensively and the small and dried up 1-meter stream got flushed by the water coming of the Sierra Morena hills some 10kms north of Cordoba. And despite really being only quite a small river the water managed to displace an awfull lot of stones. The estuario of it suddenly was some 2mts further into the river.

But for very many small fish today was there last day of their young life. They took there "chance" to swim up that new river to look for food. But only few hours after the flooding rain stopped, and so the stream ran dry again. These youngster didn't notice that and "ended up" trapped.

I searched for them for about one hour and saved maybe some 100. No more ...

And every day Manuel came by, accompanied by his dogs Curro and Terri, and one time Trini, the cat, came to have a check. Curro is the most calm dog I ever met, Terri is the most active dog I ever met and Trini was not in a hurry .

Cordoba has a hot Mediterranean climate with the highest summer average daily temperatures in Spain and Europe with highs averaging 37C in July. Days with temperatures over 40C are very common in the summer months. So this is the very right place to be for me (but how to leave, and where to cycle to lateron ???).

But first I had to start thinking about what to do to survive the cold winter that would arrive in about two months ultimately. And everywhere else it could easily even be colder then here. The answer to that question turned out to be rather surprising !
